Apply for this InfoNile Environmental Youth Activism Training program 2024 for young climate leaders in the Nile Basin

The 2024 InfoNile Environmental Youth Activism Training Program is now accepting applications. Youth activists from Nile Basin countries—including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Egypt, South Sudan, and Sudan—are invited to apply.

This initiative is held in collaboration with the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and is funded by the JRS Biodiversity Foundation and IHE Delft’s Water and Development Partnership Programme. Now in its second year, the program is designed to improve the communication skills of young activists, helping them effectively highlight and raise awareness about critical water-related issues. These challenges include the pollution of rivers, lakes, oceans, and groundwater, which threatens aquatic ecosystems and intensifies water scarcity. This contamination not only damages habitats but also makes it harder for communities to access clean water, a vital resource for both human health and the environment.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to youth activists residing in the Nile Basin countries who are passionate about water issues.
- Participants must have access to a smartphone or internet connection and be proficient in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- They need to be living in the Nile Basin throughout the training and campaign phases.
- Applicants should have a strong interest in social media engagement, as the content produced during the program will be promoted online. Active involvement in sharing and amplifying this content is required.
- Full participation in all activities and sessions is mandatory.
