Applications are invited for all young people who would like to internet with UNESCO.
Young individuals who possess scientific knowledge, teaching skills, innovative thinking, and expertise in various fields are playing an increasingly vital role in generating knowledge, finding solutions, and raising awareness for climate action.
The Youth UNESCO Climate Action Network (YoU-CAN) was established as a UNESCO flagship initiative during COP25. Its purpose is to connect existing youth climate networks worldwide, promote collaboration, and empower young people to lead climate action and research across disciplines.
YoU-CAN aims to achieve its objectives through the following means:
1. Suggesting creative and innovative actions to address local climate challenges and needs.
2. Assisting youth in co-producing and sharing knowledge.
3. Enhancing the capabilities of young individuals.
4. Ensuring the inclusion of youth voices in high-level climate events and discussions.
Tasks of the intern, supervised by the UNESCO Youth Programme, include:
1. Assisting in the expansion of YoU-CAN membership and its opening to new participants.
2. Supporting the YoU-CAN Steering Committee and maintaining regular communication.
3. Updating the database and mapping of existing youth and climate networks, particularly those collaborating with UNESCO.
4. Identifying youth-relevant and climate-related UNESCO activities and publications for YoU-CAN's potential involvement.
5. Assisting in the implementation of activities by the Steering Committee.
6. Creating content for the YoU-CAN webpage and managing its platform.
7. Utilizing social media platforms to mobilize young individuals and youth groups in support of YoU-CAN's operations.
8. Monitoring and reporting on YoU-CAN's involvement in relevant activities.
9. Managing the YoU-CAN mailbox.
10. Drafting presentation documents, materials, and reports as required.
11. Providing support for fundraising initiatives related to the network.

Additional Information
Being enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s degree, PhD, or equivalent, second university degree or higher).
Being recently graduated with a Master’s degree or PhD (or second degree as defined above), 12 months prior to the start of the internship.
