 Apply to be a Goodwill Ambassador for Gender and Youth Empowerment

Regarding its "Goodwill Ambassadors for Gender and Youth Empowerment" program, the Southern African Development Community (SACREEE) is seeking the assistance of well-known persons in the region as well as volunteer services.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of empowering women and youth in the sustainable energy sector and to encourage their involvement in energy development and the energy transition within the SADC region.

The SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE) is a regional organization established by the SADC Ministers responsible for Energy. Its mandate is to contribute to the region by:

- Expanding access to clean and affordable energy.
- Enhancing energy security through promoting market-driven adoption of renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, and energy services.

Responsibilities:

- Participate in or lead initiatives that raise public awareness about the diverse opportunities the sustainable energy sector offers to women and youth.
- Actively emphasize the crucial role of women and youth in advancing sustainable energy development and the energy transition, while promoting experience-sharing among Member States, industry, civil society, and the broader community.
- Mentorship: Offer guidance and support to young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to help them realize their full potential.
- Collaborations: Partner with other organizations and stakeholders to develop and support initiatives focused on addressing gender and youth-related challenges.
- Fundraising: Contribute to fundraising efforts to support programs and projects that foster gender equality and empower youth.

- Networking: Capability to connect and collaborate with various stakeholders, including youth, community leaders, and policymakers.
- Commitment: A strong dedication to the mission, with a willingness to invest the necessary time and effort to fulfill responsibilities.
- Flexibility: Readiness to adapt to the varying needs of different stakeholders.
- Must be a citizen of the SADC region.

**Application Requirements:**

Individuals from the SADC region interested in applying for the role of Gender and Youth Goodwill Ambassador should submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter. The cover letter should highlight their relevant experience, enthusiasm for the cause, and their vision for making a difference in this role. The letter must be typed in Arial font, size 12, and limited to two pages.
