Call for Expressions of Interest to Serve on the WHO Youth Council (2026-2028) – Apply now

Applications are open for the third term of the WHO Youth Council (2026–2028), inviting youth-led, youth-focused organizations and youth chapters from around the world to express their interest in joining this global advisory platform.

The initiative offers an opportunity for young people to contribute to international health discussions, strengthen youth participation in decision-making, and collaborate with organizations working to improve health outcomes worldwide.

About the WHO Youth Council

The WHO Youth Council serves as a platform that brings together youth organizations to help inform global health policies, programmes, and strategies. By fostering dialogue between young leaders and WHO, the Council aims to ensure that youth perspectives are reflected in efforts to address current and emerging public health challenges.

Members work collectively to promote innovation, advocate for youth priorities, and support initiatives that contribute to stronger and more inclusive health systems.

Applicants should meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the WHO Youth Council Terms of Reference. The selection process seeks broad representation from different regions, sectors, and organizational backgrounds to ensure a diverse and inclusive membership.

Application Process

Interested organizations are required to:

  • Complete the official WHO Youth Council online application form
  • Submit the mandatory Tobacco and Arms Disclosure Form
  • Ensure they meet the eligibility criteria specified in the Terms of Reference

Organizations that are not yet members of the WHO Civil Society Commission should apply for Commission participation before seeking membership in the Youth Council.

Applications will be assessed based on eligibility, organizational experience, motivation, diversity, and the potential contribution to the Council's objectives.

About the WHO Civil Society Commission

The WHO Civil Society Commission brings together non-governmental organizations from around the world, including community organizations, professional associations, patient groups, faith-based organizations, and civil society networks. Participants work alongside WHO to strengthen collaboration, share expertise, and advance public health priorities at global, regional, national, and local levels.

Organizations accepted into the Commission are expected to actively contribute to meetings, working groups, and collaborative initiatives while supporting WHO's mission to improve health outcomes worldwide.

Youth organizations interested in influencing international health policy and strengthening youth engagement in global health governance are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
