Atlantic Dialogues 2026 Call for Volunteers 

Applications are open for volunteers to support the 15th edition of the Atlantic Dialogues, a high-level international conference taking place in Rabat, Morocco, from December 10–12, 2026.

The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) is inviting motivated students and young professionals to join the event team for an eight-day volunteer period from December 6–13, 2026. The opportunity offers hands-on experience in supporting an international policy conference that brings together policymakers, business leaders, academics, media professionals and civil society representatives from Africa, Europe and the Americas.

About Atlantic Dialogues

Atlantic Dialogues is an annual international conference organized by the Policy Center for the New South. The event provides a platform for dialogue on political, economic, social and environmental developments shaping the Atlantic Basin.

The 2026 edition will bring together experts, scholars and policymakers for three days of thematic discussions and exchanges on the future of the Atlantic space and its potential role in global growth.

The conference will also feature the presentation of the Atlantic Currents report, which examines African Atlantic economic and geopolitical dynamics.

About the Volunteer Opportunity

Selected volunteers will work alongside PCNS staff before and during the conference, contributing to the coordination and delivery of the event.

Their responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting event logistics and administrative activities
  • Assisting with conference production
  • Supporting communications activities
  • Providing media and event-related assistance
  • Helping with the coordination of conference activities
  • Working with PCNS teams during the preparation and implementation of the event
  • Participating in scheduled team meetings and orientation activities

This opportunity provides participants with first-hand exposure to the operational side of a major international policy dialogue.

Volunteer Period

The volunteer assignment will run from December 6 to December 13, 2026, covering the preparation period and the Atlantic Dialogues conference.

The main conference will take place from December 10–12, 2026, in Rabat, Morocco.

Volunteers are expected to remain fully available throughout the assignment.

About the Policy Center for the New South

The Policy Center for the New South is a Moroccan think tank focused on economic and social public policy issues affecting Morocco, Africa and the wider Global South.

The organization conducts research, convenes international policy discussions and works to strengthen African expertise and perspectives on global challenges. Its major initiatives include the Atlantic Dialogues, the African Peace and Security Annual Conference and the Africa Economic Symposium.

Through the Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders programme, PCNS also supports networking and intergenerational exchange among emerging decision-makers from government, business and civil society.

Benefits and Support

- Although this is an unpaid volunteer position, selected participants will gain practical experience supporting a high-level international policy conference.

- Volunteers will have the opportunity to:

- Gain hands-on experience in international conference coordination

- Work alongside professionals from the Policy Center for the New South

- Develop experience in logistics, production, communications and media

- Interact with policymakers, researchers, business leaders, academics and civil society representatives

- Expand their professional and international networks

- Gain exposure to discussions on global economic, geopolitical, social and environmental issues

- The organizers will provide meals during the volunteer period and can arrange accommodation on a needs basis.

- An online orientation session will be organized before the volunteer period. Attendance at the orientation and all scheduled team meetings is mandatory.
Eligibility Criteria
The opportunity is open to students and young professionals who are motivated to gain experience in international conferences, public policy, communications, event management and related areas.

Applicants should:

- Be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, either in progress

- Be fluent in English

- Ideally have additional proficiency in French and/or Arabic

- Have strong communication skills

- Demonstrate an interest in the Atlantic region and its geopolitical, economic, social or environmental developments

- Be willing to work flexible hours during the volunteer period

- Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, respect and professionalism

- Previous event-management experience is considered an asset but is not required.
