CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Climate Cardinals is accepting applications for several volunteer positions

Climate Cardinals is a globally recognized, youth-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to overcoming language barriers in climate education. Featured on Forbes 30 Under 30, the organization has mobilized over 14,000 volunteers across more than 82 countries, translating over 1.5 million words of climate-related content into more than 100 languages.

By joining the International Relations Team at Climate Cardinals, you will play an essential role in assisting regional presidents and local chapters as they promote climate education and advocacy worldwide. As a Deputy Director, you will collaborate closely with regional leaders and, in some cases, represent them to support grassroots campaigns focused on climate literacy.

In the role of a Regional Deputy Director, you will be responsible for approving and overseeing the operations of local Climate Cardinals chapters in your designated area. You will guide the volunteer base, ensuring the smooth execution of grassroots education campaigns and helping regional chapters create and distribute educational resources that promote climate literacy. Additionally, you will organize and lead workshops focused on grassroots climate education and activism, while advocating for the inclusion of climate-related topics in local school curricula. You will also assist regional chapters in spreading climate education materials through various platforms and draft annual reports outlining the impact of regional efforts on climate activism, justice, and outreach. Furthermore, you will seek out local grants to expand the reach of Climate Cardinals’ initiatives in your region.

As a Social Media Coordinator, you will develop and implement strategic social media campaigns that promote chapter activities and global sustainability initiatives. You will assist regional chapters in creating and sharing educational content on social media platforms to enhance climate literacy. Additionally, you will manage the social media presence for local chapters on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok. You will also support chapters in running Wikipedia campaigns aimed at improving climate-related content and use social media analytics to track and optimize the reach and engagement of these efforts.

The role of Communication Specialist will require you to manage internal communications between various chapters, regional presidents, and directors. Your job will involve ensuring that all messaging is consistent and that the organization’s goals are clearly communicated across all channels. You will serve as the primary contact for all communications, handling email and WhatsApp messages and ensuring prompt responses. This position will also involve sending reminder emails for upcoming events, providing regular updates on progress, and designing strategies to facilitate smooth communication flows within the organization.

These positions require a commitment of fewer than 10 hours per week and are volunteer-based. The application deadline is October 31st.
