COP30 Brazil : Join the African Union CSO Working Group on Climate Change for COP30 Preparation

The Economic, Social, and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union invites African experts and advocacy groups to be part of the ECOSOCC Working Group on Climate Change as it prepares for the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).

This collaborative initiative provides a platform to shape climate policy, amplify African voices, and ensure Africa’s active participation in COP30, scheduled for November 10–21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil.

Purpose of the Working Group

The Working Group will play a crucial role in integrating civil society perspectives into the African Union’s climate change policies. Members will contribute to the creation of strategies addressing the environmental, social, and economic effects of climate change across the continent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop practical policy recommendations for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • Ensure that African priorities are included in COP30 discussions.
  • Organize webinars, workshops, and events to enhance civil society involvement.
  • Conduct research to back evidence-based advocacy at COP30.

Application Process

Interested experts and organizations are invited to apply by filling out the registration form. Submit your application by March 31, 2025 to be considered.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical climate actions and ensure that Africa's concerns and solutions are central to global climate discussions at COP30.
