FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the 2025 Asia Foundation Development Fellows program 

Encouraging exceptionally talented Asian persons under 40 to expand their professional networks, understanding of Asian development, leadership abilities, and exposure to other cultures is the goal of the dynamic and comprehensive Asia Foundation Development Fellows programme. The initiative is in line with the Foundation's nearly seven-decade history of supporting the most outstanding young people in the area for leadership roles.

The 2025 Asia Foundation Development Fellows Program aims to address the global climate crisis by focusing on Climate Action. Eligibility requires candidates to have a career background or vocation addressing climate change and a proven commitment to a resilient, sustainable future. The program is designed to develop leadership skills and includes a multidisciplinary cohort. Fellows may come from various fields, including environmental sciences, sustainability, community engagement, and policy and law. No professional background is ineligible if they can demonstrate the intersection of their work with climate action.

The Asia Foundation Development Fellows program offers interactive leadership training modules, site visits, short assignments, and sessions on self-awareness and wellness. The program focuses on strategic thinking, decision-making, critical perspectives, problem-solving skills, and innovative approaches in leadership and management. The program takes place in Asia and the Pacific, addressing local needs and challenges, and focusing on climate action trends and innovative work in the climate space.

Program Benefits
Each chosen Fellow will be eligible for a prize of up to $5,000 USD. With this financial grant, Fellows will have the chance to create customised plans that will advance their professional experience and leadership abilities in areas that are especially crucial to their career development. Each Fellow will be required to create a unique work plan for the next year that may include attending important regional forums or workshops, studying a language, participating in other enrichment activities, or enrolling in specialised training programmes or short courses.
Eligibility Criteria
possess a track record of accomplishment and experience in addressing climate change, as well as a strong dedication to securing a resilient and sustainable future. Candidates who can show how their work connects with climate action are eligible regardless of their professional background.
Be considerate, devoted, well-respected, and illustrious leaders in their communities and professions.
be younger than 40 on January 1, 2025.
English proficiency is a must (TOEFL exam scores are not required).
be able to attend and engage in all programme activities on the designated programme dates.
possess the ability to obtain a visa in order to enter the US.
Eligible Countries
be citizens or residents of the following nations and regions: Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Timor-Leste, Afghanistan, Afghanistan, Australia*, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Maldives, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pacific Islands, Pakistan, and Vietnam.
Application Procedure
There is fierce competition for the programme. The Asia Foundation staff will carefully review each application and choose a smaller pool of candidates. Final selections will be made by a distinguished group that is knowledgeable about the requirements and development circumstances in Asia and the Pacific. Regardless of a candidate's gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, ethnic background, or ability to pay, fellows will be selected. Unless otherwise specified in the application, all information submitted in connection with the application will be kept private. Moreover, the nominees' identities would be kept private during the entire final selection procedure.
