Fully Funded : Apply for the 2025 UN Youth Affairs Young Leaders for the SDGs Programme
The Young Leaders for the SDGs initiative honors outstanding young individuals who are driving progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every two years, 17 young leaders are selected to partner with the United Nations and its collaborators to accelerate SDG implementation and inspire other young people to take part in this important work.
These leaders come from a wide variety of fields—from food to fashion to finance—and represent different regions across the globe. They work together to help engage youth around the world in advancing the SDGs. Throughout their two-year term, they:
- Advocate for the SDGs through impactful storytelling, high-profile campaigns, and partnerships that resonate with young people in diverse contexts;
- Participate in global dialogues, including UN and international events, to amplify youth perspectives on sustainable development;
- Inspire and mobilize their communities using creative methods to promote action towards the Goals;
- Collaborate with the UN and its partners, contributing to significant initiatives and global moments related to youth and the SDGs;
- Uphold UN values, demonstrating integrity, leadership, and accountability in all their endeavors.
The initiative provides Young Leaders with a range of benefits to amplify their efforts, including a global platform to showcase their work, access to the UN system and its network, capacity-building opportunities, and participation in key events both within the UN and globally.
