The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) evaluates the development effectiveness of the World Bank Group. Its work provides evaluative evidence to assist the World Bank Group in delivering better services and results to its clients. This is achieved by generating lessons from past experiences and ensuring accountability to shareholders and stakeholders.

IEG is independent of the Management of the World Bank Group and reports directly to the Executive Board.
