Fully Funded : Apply For The 2026 Climate Justice Fellows (CJF) Program

The Center for Engagement, Environmental Justice, and Health INpowering Communities (CEEJH INC) has opened applications for the 2026 Climate Justice Fellows Program, an initiative created to build the next generation of environmental justice leaders across the U.S. and around the world.

About CEEJH INC

CEEJH INC is widely recognized for its work addressing environmental injustice and the health disparities created by structural inequality and environmental racism. The organization partners with community groups, advocates, researchers, educators, policymakers, and frontline communities to drive community-led action. Through education, capacity-building, participatory research, and technology, CEEJH works to strengthen the power of underserved and overburdened communities.

About the Fellowship

The Climate Justice Fellows (CJF) Program is an immersive experience that blends foundational learning with practical project work. Fellows gain training in environmental justice, climate justice, community science, advocacy, policy, and storytelling, while collaborating directly with CEEJH experts on real community projects.

The program is led by the CEEJH INC team, including Executive Director Dr. Sacoby Wilson, Director of Education Nicole Jackson, and subject matter specialists in science, policy, and community engagement.

Cohort Structure

For 2026, up to 30 participants will be selected across three sub-cohorts:

  • Mid-Atlantic Cohort – applicants from DC, DE, MD, NJ, NY, PA, VA, WV

  • National Cohort – applicants from any other U.S. state or territory

  • Global Cohort – applicants residing outside the United States

The fellowship welcomes individuals aged 18 and above, regardless of academic background or career stage. Ideal candidates include community organizers, students, professionals wanting to transition to climate justice work, and anyone committed to environmental equity. No prior employment in the field is required.
