FULLY FUNDED: Apply for the 2026 GCSP Prize for Innovation in Global Security

Applications are open for the 2026 GCSP Prize for Innovation in Global Security, an international award organized by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy. Since its launch in 2015, the prize has recognized individuals, teams, and organizations developing innovative solutions to some of the world’s most pressing security challenges. The competition welcomes groundbreaking projects, research, technological innovations, and grassroots initiatives that contribute to global peace and security and demonstrate impact beyond national borders.

The winner will receive a CHF 10,000 cash prize together with a certificate of excellence, while second- and third-place winners will receive certificates of recognition. Two additional projects will be awarded honorable mentions.

Program Benefits

The first-place laureate will receive a cash award of CHF 10,000 and a certificate of excellence recognizing their outstanding contribution to global peace and security. In addition to the financial award, winners gain international recognition from a leading global security institution, increased visibility for their work, and opportunities to connect with experts and stakeholders in the global security field. Second- and third-place recipients receive certificates of recognition, while two honorable mentions are also awarded.

Eligibility Criteria

The competition is open to individuals, groups of individuals, public institutions, private organizations, and other entities from any country around the world. Applicants must submit projects that contribute to global security and demonstrate innovative thinking, creativity, and the potential for meaningful impact. Eligible projects may include technological innovations, conceptual innovations, original research, policy solutions, or grassroots initiatives that address global security challenges beyond a single national context. Current GCSP employees, fellows, participants, and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply.

Eligible Countries

Open to applicants from all countries worldwide. Projects should demonstrate relevance and impact beyond national borders and contribute to global security challenges.
