Applications are open for the 2026 Tech Policy Press Fellowship Program, a year-long, part-time fellowship designed for journalists, researchers, lawyers, and public policy professionals interested in the intersection of technology and democracy. This program supports independent projects that explore pressing issues in technology policy, aiming to generate high-quality work that informs both the public and decision-makers. Program Benefits

Selected fellows will receive a $10,000 stipend to support their work throughout the year-long program. They will become part of an international cohort of fellows, participating in monthly sessions designed to provide feedback, guidance, and networking opportunities. Fellows will also receive editorial mentorship and guidance to ensure their projects meet high standards of research and public communication. This fellowship offers a unique combination of financial support, professional development, and access to a network of peers and experts in the field, empowering fellows to produce impactful work that can influence public discourse and policy decisions.

Eligibility Criteria

The fellowship is open to individuals with a demonstrated interest or professional experience in tech policy, media, journalism, law, or public policy. Applicants should have a strong commitment to producing high-quality, public-interest work over the course of the fellowship. Tech Policy Press encourages applications from members of the Global Majority and other underrepresented communities in media. Candidates must clearly outline their project focus and demonstrate how their work will contribute to public understanding of technology, policy, and democracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while engaging with a supportive cohort are highly valued.
