📚 What the Fellowship Offers
Selected fellows will engage in an intensive academic and professional development program focused on ocean affairs and international maritime law. The Fellowship includes a research phase with a host academic institution and a placement with DOALOS at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Eligibility Criteria
Aged between 25 and 45 at the time of application
Holder of at least a first-level university degree or equivalent qualification
Able to demonstrate potential for conducting advanced academic research
A citizen of a developing country
Currently employed in a mid-level professional or government role directly related to marine affairs, such as:
Implementation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS)
Management of maritime zones, marine resources, and coastal environments
Formulation of national or regional ocean policies
Work related to maritime security, shipping, marine biodiversity, or marine science and research
Contribution to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14)
Applicants must be able to fully participate in the Fellowship without conflicting responsibilities unless otherwise authorized by DOALOS.
