Applications are open for the 2027–2028 Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program, a prestigious global fellowship hosted by the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) at Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in the United States. The fellowship is designed for emerging leaders and experienced professionals who are committed to advancing equity in brain health and reducing the global impact of dementia through research, innovation, leadership, policy, education, clinical practice, and community engagement.
The year-long fellowship brings together professionals from a wide range of disciplines, including medicine, neuroscience, public health, journalism, technology, business, education, the arts, social sciences, engineering, and policymaking. Fellows become part of a lifelong international network of leaders working collaboratively to improve brain health outcomes worldwide while benefiting from interdisciplinary learning, mentorship, and global partnerships. Additional Information
The fellowship also provides opportunities to apply for competitive pilot project funding of up to US$25,000 to support brain health initiatives in fellows’ home communities. Fellows receive an internationally recognized Certificate in Equity in Brain Health from either Trinity College Dublin or UCSF, gain access to world-class faculty and research resources, and collaborate with professionals from diverse disciplines working to improve global brain health equity. Applicants must be proficient in English, be willing to complete a one-year fellowship either through the full-time, in-person programme at Trinity College Dublin or the global hybrid programme at UCSF, and be able to travel internationally when required. They should also demonstrate the capacity to create meaningful impact within their home communities after completing the fellowship and have strong regional mentorship or institutional support.
