Applications are open for the CrossCulture Programme (CCP) 2026 Fellowship cohort.

Each year, the programme brings together around 60 emerging and mid-career professionals, as well as committed volunteers, from more than 40 countries.

Selected participants spend two to three months working with civil society organisations in Germany or in one of the CCP’s partner countries, gaining hands-on experience and strengthening their intercultural competencies.

About the Fellowship

The initiative is designed to support individuals who are actively engaged in civil society work and who want to deepen their professional expertise.

Throughout their placement, fellows collaborate closely with a host organisation, contribute their own knowledge, and take part in a range of workshops, networking activities, and thematic events organised by CCP. The programme emphasises mutual learning: participants gain insights into German and international practices, while host organisations benefit from fellows’ regional perspectives and professional backgrounds.

The 2026 edition will be conducted primarily in person, though remote participation may be arranged in exceptional cases. The German Federal Foreign Office funds the programme.

Fellowships are offered in the following thematic areas:

• Policy and society

• Media and culture

• Human rights and peace

• Sustainable development and climate justice

For 2026, two additional focus topics have been introduced:

• Democratic resilience

• Culture of remembrance

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare:

• A detailed CV in English

• A recommendation letter from a supervisor in their home organisation

• A passport-style photo (optional)

Timeline

• Application deadline: 10 December 2025

• Notification of results: March–April 2026

• Fellowship period: May–November 2026
