Applications are now open for the Green Shift Fellowship Track 2025/2026, a fully funded, three-month entrepreneurship program supporting founders who are building impactful solutions in waste management, recycling, circular economy, and climate action.

Implemented by Nahdet El Mahrousa, Egypt’s first social enterprise incubator, the program is designed to help green startups strengthen their business models, expand their market reach, and scale sustainable solutions—without giving up equity.

Program Overview

Duration: 3 months
Location focus: Greater Cairo and Delta Governorates
Funding: Up to EGP 75,000 for top-performing participants
Equity: No equity required
Track record: Over 600 startups supported since 2003

Focus Areas

The fellowship supports startups working on solutions in:

Circular economy (resource efficiency, reuse, waste-to-value, green finance)
Waste management and recycling (collection, sorting, processing, reuse)
Climate change solutions (clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, behavior change, innovation)

Selection Process

Online application submission (English or Arabic)
Initial screening based on eligibility and impact
Personal interviews with shortlisted applicants
Pitch presentation before a judging panel
Final selection and program onboarding

Program Benefits

Selected founders will benefit from a mix of practical training, tailored consulting, and business support, including:

- Group and one-to-one consulting to address real business challenges

- Advanced training and financial support for outstanding participants

- Opportunities to refine operations, improve impact, and prepare for growth

Eligibility Criteria

- Operate in one of the targeted green sectors

- Demonstrate clear environmental and social impact

- Are active in Greater Cairo or Delta governorates (priority to Kafr El Sheikh and Gharbia)

- Generate revenue and have an existing customer base

- Have a founder or co-founder working full-time on the business

- Possess a core team and a clear growth or expansion plan

- Have been operating or legally registered for at least two years (preferred)

- Integrate or promote women’s participation (women-led businesses are strongly encouraged)
