Applications are now open for the Peering Fellowship 2026, a global professional development programme designed to strengthen Internet infrastructure and advance affordable, reliable, and resilient connectivity worldwide.

The six-month fellowship supports professionals working on Internet interconnection, peering, and network development by providing advanced training, mentorship, and participation in regional peering events.

About the Fellowship

The Peering Fellowship focuses on improving local Internet interconnection ecosystems while promoting policies that enable sustainable digital growth.

Through technical learning and international collaboration, selected fellows will gain practical tools to address interconnection challenges and contribute to stronger regional Internet communities.

The programme will select 20 fellows from eligible regions to participate in structured virtual learning and an in-person peering event.

What Fellows Will Experience

Participants will benefit from a combination of learning, networking, and hands-on engagement:

• Interactive virtual training sessions and collaborative forums
• Participation in a regional in-person peering event
• Technical training covering routing, Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), and peering operations
• Policy and advocacy capacity-building
• Direct engagement with global Internet infrastructure experts
• Opportunities to implement local initiatives improving connectivity and interconnection

• Africa: AfPIF — 18–21 August 2026, Kigali, Rwanda
• Latin America & Caribbean: LACNIC/LACNOG — 19–22 October 2026, Mendoza, Argentina
• Asia-Pacific: Peering Asia — 2–6 November 2026, Osaka, Japan
• Middle East: Event details to be announced
