Additional Information
In addition to financial support, participants will benefit from close mentorship with senior faculty members in African American Studies. Each scholar will have the opportunity to present their work in a departmental lecture and to workshop their manuscript with input from Princeton’s academic community. Depending on enrollment needs, scholars may also teach one undergraduate elective course, which comes with a secondary teaching appointment.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of research on race, either from a national or a global perspective. Princeton seeks individuals whose work will not only benefit from the university’s resources but also contribute meaningfully to ongoing academic conversations. The selection committee will evaluate the significance of the applicant’s proposed research, the quality of their previous scholarship, and their potential to make long-term contributions through writing and teaching.
