FULLY FUNDED : Apply for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027
Applications are now open for the Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2027, an international leadership programme designed to equip rising climate professionals from emerging and developing economies with the knowledge, networks, and leadership skills needed to accelerate climate action.
Delivered by the Yale International Leadership Center at the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs, the fellowship brings together a diverse cohort of professionals working across government, civil society, academia, business, finance, media, and international organizations.
About the Fellowship
The programme is designed for professionals who have already demonstrated impact in climate and clean energy-related fields and are ready to strengthen their leadership capacity while collaborating with peers from across the Global South.
Participants will engage in a combination of virtual learning, collaborative projects, and in-person sessions in the United States and France, creating opportunities to exchange ideas, build international partnerships, and develop solutions to global climate challenges.
Fellowship Structure
The 2027 fellowship includes:
- An in-person orientation week at Yale University from 1–5 February 2027
- Six virtual learning sessions held between March and June 2027
- A collaborative group project with fellow participants
- A closing programme in Paris from 14–18 June 2027
Professionals from a wide range of sectors are encouraged to apply, including:
- Government and public institutions
- Civil society organizations
- Climate and clean energy businesses
- Financial institutions
- Journalism and media
- Research and academia
- Law and public policy
- Entrepreneurship
- International development organizations
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Professional achievements related to climate or clean energy
- Leadership potential
- Commitment to creating positive environmental and social impact
- Potential to influence climate action nationally and internationally
- Willingness to engage in collaborative learning and expand professional networks

Additional Information
Selected fellows will receive:
- Round-trip international airfare for the required in-person sessions
- Hotel accommodation during the Yale and Paris programmes

- Membership in an international network of climate practitioners and alumni
- Have between five and ten years of professional experience
- Demonstrate significant achievements in climate change, clean energy, sustainability, or related fields
