Applications are now open for the Czech Government Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. It's reported that the Czech Government is offering a fully funded scholarship for students from developing countries to pursue their Master's or PhD degree at Czech public universities.
According to the reports, the scholarship is available for students from selected countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Zambia. Students from other countries, including EU citizens and Czech nationals, are not eligible to apply.
To be eligible, students must have completed their bachelor's degree for Master's programs or both bachelor's and master's degrees for PhD programs.
The scholarship covers study costs, living expenses (CZK 16,000-17,000 per month), accommodation, food, and public transport. However, travel expenses to and from the Czech Republic are not covered.
It's reported that the scholarship duration is 2-3 years for Master's programs and 3-4 years for PhD programs. Students can also apply for a one-year Czech language course.
