Applications are open for the National Workshops for YouthDecide 2040 – Shaping the Future of European Democracy and  imagining what democracy in Europe could look like in the years ahead. As part of the YouthDecide 2040 initiative, a series of National Workshops will be held across EU and candidate countries, bringing together motivated participants to explore new democratic perspectives through dialogue, creativity, and collaborative thinking.

Each workshop will bring together around 30 participants to co-create ideas for democratic futures at local, national, and European levels. The format has been refined through earlier Regional Workshops to ensure that every participant’s voice is heard and every contribution has space to grow. Selected individuals will have all travel and accommodation costs fully covered.

Participants are expected to contribute actively to group discussions, creative exercises, and reflection sessions, becoming part of a wider community of young people imagining fresh approaches to civic engagement and decision-making across Europe.

This initiative will ultimately involve 700 young people across 20 workshops in 19 cities. No previous experience is required—only curiosity, openness, and a desire to rethink the future.

Young people interested in contributing to the future of European democracy can select their country of residence and apply for the workshop.
