FULLY FUNDED : Join the Eco Champions Programme 2026–2027
Applications are now open for the Eco Champions Programme 2026–2027, an international youth leadership initiative designed to support emerging climate leaders working to address environmental challenges within their communities.
The programme focuses on empowering young people—particularly those from underrepresented or challenging backgrounds—to transform climate ideas into practical, community-driven solutions through mentorship, training, and financial support.
Programme Overview
The Eco Champions initiative will run from July 2026 to September 2027 across eight participating countries:
- Brazil
- Germany
- Jordan
- Namibia
- Nigeria
- Sierra Leone
- Somalia
- Uganda
Selected participants will join a diverse international network of young changemakers collaborating on sustainable climate action.
What Participants Receive
Eco Champions gain access to a structured leadership journey combining learning, mentorship, and action:
✔ Leadership & Skills Development
- Practical training sessions (virtual and in-person)
- One-on-one mentorship support
- Project design and leadership coaching
- Community engagement and advocacy skills
✔ Spark Funding
- Mini-grant funding to strengthen or launch climate initiatives
- Guidance on proposal development and project management
✔ Global Networking & Exposure
- Collaboration with international youth climate leaders
- Opportunities to participate in regional and global climate events
- Potential travel support for selected summits, including the Eco Champions Summit in Nigeria
Programme Structure
Participants will:
- Strengthen collaboration and leadership abilities
- Deepen understanding of climate challenges and solutions
- Develop creative and community-based climate projects
- Amplify their initiatives through local and global engagement opportunities
Selection Process
- Submit application by 20 May 2026
- Application review based on:
- Motivation and personal story
- Relevance and originality of the idea
- Actions already taken
- Shortlisted candidates attend online interviews (8–16 June 2026)
- Final selections announced by 30 June 2026

- Have started—or are developing—an idea addressing climate or environmental challenges such as:
- Water scarcity
- Renewable energy access
- Urban environmental issues
- Waste and overconsumption
- Ecosystem degradation
- Demonstrate resilience and commitment to community change
- Can communicate in English at an intermediate level
- Are able to dedicate roughly 10 hours per month during the programme period
- Young women, girls, and individuals from diverse or marginalized communities are strongly encouraged to participate.
