Selected participants will receive free, personalized mentorship from experienced professionals in participatory democracy. Through this fully funded program, mentees will benefit from one-on-one coaching sessions tailored to their specific challenges and goals. Over the course of six months, each mentee will engage in up to three virtual sessions with their mentor, focusing on designing or improving participatory programs, addressing obstacles, and implementing effective community engagement strategies. Participants will also take part in an online orientation session that introduces them to the mentorship process, key learning objectives, and practical resources available throughout the program. In addition, mentees will gain access to a global network of peers and experts, enabling them to exchange ideas, share best practices, and build long-term partnerships that strengthen democratic participation in their communities.

The Rising Stars Mentorship Program is open to individuals from all over the world who are actively involved in or planning participatory democracy initiatives. Eligible applicants include government officials, staff from civil society organizations, community leaders, and advocates who are working to strengthen civic engagement and democratic governance. Applicants should demonstrate a clear commitment to citizen participation, transparency, and inclusive decision-making in their work. They must also be willing to engage in a structured mentorship relationship for up to six months, participating in three scheduled virtual sessions with their assigned mentor. Since matching is based on region, language, and area of focus, applicants should be able to communicate effectively in English or another major working language to ensure productive collaboration.
