FULLY FUNDED TO AUSTRALIA : Apply for the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) Fellowship Program 2027
Applications are now open for the 2027 Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) Fellowship Program, a unique leadership opportunity designed for Indigenous and Pacific changemakers working to advance social equity and community-led transformation.
Hosted by the University of Melbourne with support from University of Auckland, the fellowship brings together emerging and established leaders from different sectors to strengthen Indigenous-led and Pacific-centred approaches to social change.
The program supports individuals who are already driving impact in areas such as community development, health, education, climate action, storytelling, business, governance, and social justice.
About the Fellowship
The AFSE Fellowship combines academic learning, leadership development, cultural exchange, and practical action. Fellows participate in a one-year Foundation Program while remaining connected to their communities and professional work.
Participants will also join a lifelong international network of Atlantic Fellows working across more than 70 countries to address major social challenges.
A key feature of the fellowship is the development of a Social Change Initiative — a practical project or initiative focused on creating long-term positive change within communities.
Program Structure
The fellowship is delivered through:
- Five intensive in-person modules during the year
- Online tutorials held every two weeks
- Community-based learning and collaboration
- Academic and practical assessments
- Regional learning experiences across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, and Pacific Island communities
The program is intentionally designed to allow fellows to continue engaging with their communities while studying.
Don't miss out on the application deadline which is 27 July 2026 at 11:59 PM AEST.
