FULLY FUNDED TO BANGKOK: Apply for the Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Youth Forum 2025
The Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) Youth Forum 2025 will take place just before the main APFSD 2025 event. Organized by a group of regional and international partners, including the Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women (ARROW), Youth LEAD, Y-PEER Asia Pacific Centre, and the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY), the forum also benefits from collaboration with organizations such as the Right Here Right Now Global Partnership, the Asia Pacific Regional CSOs Engagement Mechanism (APRCEM), and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP). This initiative is further strengthened by its partnership with the Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP.
Scheduled for February 19–21, 2025, the forum will adopt a hybrid format, enabling both in-person and virtual participation. The central theme, “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs, leaving no young person behind in Asia and the Pacific,” reflects a commitment to integrating youth perspectives into the regional development agenda.
The forum’s primary objective is to ensure that young voices, especially those under 30, are prominently included in shaping sustainable development strategies. It will contribute to advancing solutions aligned with the 12th APFSD theme, particularly emphasizing youth realities. By fostering discussions on progress and challenges in implementing SDGs, including Goals 3 (Good Health), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work), 14 (Life Below Water), and 17 (Partnerships), participants will critically evaluate progress while identifying systemic barriers to youth inclusion.
Furthermore, the event aims to sustain a youth-dedicated platform and amplify their perspectives across regional, sub-regional, and global forums. This includes influencing major events like the Fourth UN Financing for Development Conference (FfD4), Beijing+30, and the World Social Summit in 2025. Through these engagements, young participants will co-create a Youth Call to Action, aimed at influencing intergovernmental discussions at the APFSD and HLPF later that year.

Additional Information
Moreover, the forum provides access to in-depth discussions on critical SDGs, including health, gender equality, decent work, environmental preservation, and global partnerships. Participants will also gain valuable insights into addressing systemic and structural barriers to youth involvement in sustainable development. By engaging in this platform, young leaders have the chance to co-develop a “Youth Call to Action” that will inform key intergovernmental processes like the APFSD and HLPF, as well as shape outcomes for pivotal global events such as Beijing+30 and the Fourth UN Financing for Development Conference. This experience equips participants with advocacy skills, policy knowledge, and the tools needed to drive sustainable change within their communities and beyond.
Special emphasis will be placed on ensuring diversity and inclusion by prioritizing individuals from marginalized or socially excluded groups, as well as those from remote or hard-to-reach locations. Preference may also be given to those who have previously participated in the APFSD Youth Forum, contributed to past APFSD Calls to Action, or attended the intergovernmental APFSD in the past.
