The Ilia Calderón Scholarship, continuing its success from 2021, 2022, and 2023, has once again teamed up with the Jang Calderón Family Foundation. They aim to help young leaders with Afro-descendant or Indigenous backgrounds, aged 18 to 30, who are leading new and important projects across Latin America and the Caribbean. This scholarship will support two such leaders by paying for their travel and attendance at the One Young World 2024 Summit in Montreal, Canada.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old during the One Young World Summit 2024, which is happening from September 18th to 21st in Montreal, Canada. People from the following countries can apply: Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Honduras, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil.

Evaluation Criteria:
They'll look at how committed applicants are to helping their communities or regions, how relevant their projects are, their leadership skills, how they tackle local or global issues, their history of coming up with impactful and creative ideas, and how motivated they are to take part in One Young World.
