Eligibility Criteria
Here are the potential eligibility criteria for the UBC International Scholars Program:
*General Eligibility*
1. Citizenship: International student (non-Canadian)
2. Age: 18-25 years old (at the time of application)
3. Education: Currently in secondary school or transferring from another post-secondary institution
4. Language: Proficient in English (language of instruction at UBC)
*Academic Requirements*
1. GPA: Minimum 90% or equivalent (A average)
2. Academic achievement: Top 10% of graduating class
3. Standardized tests:
- SAT: 1400 or higher
- ACT: 32 or higher
- IB Diploma: 38 or higher
- AP courses: 4 or 5 on AP exams
*Additional Requirements*
1. Leadership experience: Demonstrated leadership in school or community
2. Community service: Active involvement in volunteer work or extracurricular activities
3. Personal statement: Compelling essay outlining academic goals, motivations, and potential impact
4. Letters of recommendation: Two academic or professional references
