FULLY FUNDED TO ICELAND : Apply for the Arctic Indigenous Youth All-Access Journey to the Arctic Circle Assembly 2026
Applications are now open for the Arctic Indigenous Youth All-Access Journey to the 2026 Arctic Circle Assembly, a fully funded opportunity for Indigenous young leaders to participate in one of the world's leading forums on Arctic affairs.
Organized by Arctic Circle in collaboration with the Government of Canada and the Global Arctic Leadership Initiative (GALI), the programme will bring selected participants to Reykjavík, Iceland, where they will engage with policymakers, Indigenous representatives, researchers, business leaders, and civil society organizations shaping the future of the Arctic.
The Arctic Circle Assembly 2026 will take place from 8–10 October 2026.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong applications may also demonstrate:
- Leadership experience within their community
- Participation in volunteer work, youth initiatives, or extracurricular activities
- Interest in collaborating with diverse regional and international youth networks
- Commitment to advancing Indigenous voices and Arctic cooperation

- Round-trip airfare from eligible North American or Nordic Arctic countries
- Accommodation in central Reykjavík throughout the programme
- Daily allowance during the Assembly

- Networking opportunities with Indigenous leaders, youth representatives, and Arctic stakeholders from around the world
- Priority will be given to applicants from underserved communities and those demonstrating financial need.
- Reside in a North American or Nordic Arctic country
- Demonstrate an interest in Arctic issues and Indigenous Peoples' affairs
- Possess good English communication skills
- Be available to attend the Assembly in Reykjavík from 8–10 October 2026
- Participate in required virtual preparation and follow-up activities
- Be willing to share their experiences through testimonials, interviews, articles, or social media content
