FULLY FUNDED TO LUANDA ,ANGOLA : Apply for the UNESCO-IEEE Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Early-Career Engineers in Africa
A brand-new engineering for sustainable development entrepreneurship bootcamp is being offered by UNESCO and IEEE Entrepreneurship. From September 9 to September 13, 2024, in Luanda, Angola, there will be a 5-day intensive bootcamp for early-career engineers.
We invite prospective African applicants to apply and benefit from this enlightening experience if they are interested in developing entrepreneurial skills to promote their scientific inventions. Under the direction of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development 2024–2033, the bootcamp is being held. It is an offering for the tenth Africa Engineering Week.
Concerning the bootcamp
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the need of engineering and innovation for sustainable development, opportunity assessment, the concept of intellectual property (IP) and its significance, basic financial knowledge for start-ups, bringing an idea to market—the steps involved in bringing an invention to market—developing a business model and business plan, success stories, innovation tools, important decisions faced by start-ups, raising funds for start-ups, and more will all be covered in the bootcamp. The bootcamp will include a series of lectures, group activities led by mentors, discussions, and one-on-one conversations with interested individuals.

Opportunity assessment, Concept of intellectual property (IP) and its significance.

Basic financial knowledge for start-ups, taking ideas to market - timelines and processes for taking an invention to market.

Developing a business models and business plan, Success stories.

Innovation tools: Key decisions encountered by start-ups, Raising funds for start-ups.
In addition, a group of seasoned entrepreneurs and inventors will advise the participants as they develop and present their ideas to a panel of judges in small groups. Before the bootcamp, there will be two virtual sessions to generate ideas.
