Call for Nominations: IPBES Youth Workshop 2024
The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) is hosting a youth workshop from December 6-9, 2024, in Windhoek, Namibia, in conjunction with IPBES 11. This in-person meeting aims to bring together 25 young professionals from around the world to discuss biodiversity and ecosystem services.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: 18-30 years old
- Active engagement in biodiversity and ecosystem services work, including IPBES assessments
- Nomination by a government or organization with a letter of recommendation
- Commitment to in-person participation and reporting on the workshop's outcomes
- Excellent English language skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural team
Selection and Support:
- Participants will be selected by the Capacity-Building Task Force Management Committee
- Support for travel, meals, and accommodation will be provided by the Governments of Finland, Norway, and the UK, as well as Future Earth
Expected Outcomes:
- Active contribution to the workshop
- Reporting on the workshop's outcomes and IPBES work to home institutions and relevant organizations
- Initiation of capacity-building activities for youth
