The Refugee Fellows Program provides a comprehensive support system aimed at enhancing fellows’ advocacy impact. Participants receive professional development through tailored training sessions, mentorship from experts, and opportunities to collaborate with a global network of leaders and organizations. The fellowship also offers access to platforms that amplify fellows’ work, helping them influence policies and raise awareness on critical displacement issues.

In addition, fellows receive financial support (grant funding) to advance their advocacy initiatives, along with ongoing guidance from the organization’s team. The program is structured to ensure that participants not only grow individually but also strengthen their ability to create sustainable and meaningful change within their communities. 

The program is open to applicants from all countries, with a strong emphasis on individuals who have lived experience as refugees or forcibly displaced persons. Candidates are expected to already be engaged in advocacy work or initiatives that support displaced communities, demonstrating a clear commitment to creating positive change. Priority is often given to emerging leaders working in regions or on issues aligned with the organization’s advocacy priorities.

Applicants should be able to actively participate in a remote fellowship, meaning they must have reliable access to a computer and internet connection. While English proficiency is preferred to fully engage with program activities, additional languages and local advocacy experience are considered valuable. Additionally, fellows must be able to receive grant funding, which may require access to a valid bank account in compliance with international regulations.
