RISE UP is a global network of over 650 organizations dedicated to ensuring that ocean decision-making includes the voices of communities most affected by ocean governance. We work to amplify the efforts of small-scale fishers, Indigenous Peoples, and grassroots conservation groups, collaborating with policymakers, environmental NGOs, and philanthropists to promote equitable and sustainable ocean governance.

The Role:
RISE UP is seeking a passionate and strategic Senior Campaigner to lead impactful country-level campaigns on ocean conservation, particularly in relation to key topics such as the High Seas Treaty, Deep-Sea Protection, Small-Scale Fisheries, and Ocean and Climate initiatives. You will work closely with the Director and the RISE UP Secretariat team to engage with the network, develop advocacy strategies, and drive action on the ground.

As Senior Campaigner, your role will involve:

• Mobilizing RISE UP members to campaign on vital ocean issues.
• Strengthening relationships with member organizations and building a collaborative campaign strategy.
• Driving country-level campaigns and ensuring they align with global ocean governance goals.
• Empowering local communities, particularly small-scale fishers and Indigenous groups, ensuring their voices are central to campaigns.
• Coordinating member resources and developing campaign materials to support advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement member engagement strategies to activate the RISE UP network.
• Organize regular events, workshops, and webinars to engage members and share knowledge.
• Collaborate with international initiatives to amplify campaigns.
• Monitor and evaluate campaign progress and represent RISE UP at global forums.
• Ensure that member-led initiatives are effectively highlighted and supported.

Location: Fully Remote (preferably based in the Global South)
