FUNDED: Apply for the MCW Global launches the 2024 in-person Young Leaders Fellowship
Empowering Youth to Lead Global Change Locally
The Young Leaders Fellowship Program is a unique year-long leadership initiative that welcomes young individuals aged 18 to 26 from all over the world. This program is designed for those who are enthusiastic about making a positive impact in their communities, particularly in the fields of education, health, and economic security. The program equips participants with the necessary skills, fosters global citizenship awareness, self-awareness, and visionary thinking.
Program Components
1. Community Needs Assessment (Virtual) – 1 Month
The fellowship begins with a one-month virtual Community Needs Assessment, where young leaders from diverse backgrounds across the globe learn to gain a better understanding of their local communities. This assessment helps them gain insights into community needs before they proceed to in-person training.
2. Vision Planning & Project Development (In-Person) – 10 Days
After the virtual phase, participants attend a 10-day in-person training program. Here, they refine their ideas for addressing community issues, transforming their passion into a concrete action plan. The program includes a variety of speakers, workshops, events, and collaborative group work, enabling participants to recognize their role in effecting global change.
3. Project Implementation & Alumni Mentorship (Virtual) – 10 Months
The final phase involves the execution of their action plans. Young Leaders are paired with alumni mentors who provide guidance throughout the year. These mentors are graduates of the program and offer valuable support through quarterly "hangouts" and ongoing communication. Mentors receive specialized training to facilitate team-building and promote cultural understanding among the diverse group of Young Leaders.
