Are you a passionate young African leader aged 18 to 35, committed to driving positive change across the continent? If so, the Mwalimu Nyerere Pan-African Young Leaders Fellowship program is an ideal choice for you.

In honor of the late Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere, the Founding Father of The United Republic of Tanzania and a notable figure in Africa, this fellowship program aims to nurture, mentor, and train young African leaders dedicated to Pan-Africanism, Unity, Peace, and People-Centered Development. The program envisions transforming the young generation of African leaders into responsible and dedicated Pan-African leaders who will champion Unity, Peace, and People-Centered Development.

This fellowship offers a unique opportunity for 60 young leaders from diverse African countries to come together, learn, grow, and collaborate in addressing the challenges faced by Africa. The program takes place in Tanzania every November, aligning with the African Youth Month. The 2nd cohort of the program is scheduled for November 2023, and young people are encouraged to apply for this transformative experience.

The Mwalimu Nyerere Pan-African Young Leaders Fellowship is organized by The Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation – MNF, in partnership with the United Nations Institute of Training and Research – UNITAR, and in collaboration with the Tanzanian Government through the Prime Minister’s Office, Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities; The Ministry of Information, Youth, Culture, and Sports – Zanzibar; and Africa-Asia Youth Foundation.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Passionate about leadership and social change.
- Demonstrated commitment to Pan-Africanism, unity, peace, and people-centered development.
- Willingness to learn and grow as a current or future leader of Africa.
- Ready to utilize the knowledge gained in the program to drive positive change in their local communities.

Fellowship Benefits:
- Partially funded costs, covering all local expenses during the program. Participants will only be responsible for their visa and travel to and from Tanzania.
- Comprehensive training workshops focusing on leadership, peacebuilding, and social justice.
- Mentorship opportunities with experienced Pan-African leaders, providing valuable guidance and support.
