Apply now for the 2024/2025 RUFORUM/Mastercard Foundation TAGDev Scholarships!

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and Mastercard Foundation are offering scholarships to young Africans to study at Gulu University (Uganda) and Egerton University (Kenya). This program aims to empower African youth to drive transformation in agriculture and agrifood systems.

To be eligible, you must:

- Be from Kenya, Uganda, or a refugee living in these countries
- Come from a disadvantaged background or have a disability
- Be under 25 (undergraduate) or 30 (master's) years old
- Have completed secondary school or diploma not more than two years ago
- Meet admission criteria for your chosen program
- Show interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship
- Demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to community service

The scholarship covers all expenses, including tuition fees, research costs, living expenses, and entrepreneurship training.

This is a funded scholarship and it covers all fees related to studying and completing your program. There is also a stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the TAGDev Scholarship, you must be a national of Kenya or Uganda, or a refugee residing in either country. You should be from an economically disadvantaged background, marginalized community, or conflict-affected area. Age-wise, you should be below 25 years for undergraduate studies and below 30 years for master's studies. However, refugees and persons with disabilities can apply if they are below 29 years for undergraduate studies and below 34 years for master's studies. You should have completed secondary school or diploma not more than two years ago and meet the admission criteria for your chosen program at Egerton University or Gulu University. Additionally, you should demonstrate interest in agriculture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship, and show leadership qualities and a commitment to community service.
