Applications for the 2024/2025 Colombia Foreign Scholarships are now open, offering opportunities for international students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in Colombia or strengthening their Spanish language skills for academic purposes.

ICETEX, as a key institution of the Colombian State dedicated to promoting higher education through educational credits and international cooperation scholarships, administers economic aid to foreign citizens under the Strategy of Reciprocity for foreigners and its Beca Colombia program.

The Reciprocity scholarships cater to two categories of applicants: foreigners aiming to pursue specialization, master’s, and doctorate degrees in Colombian higher education institutions, as per the "2024-2 ACADEMIC OFFER CATALOG," and foreigners from non-Spanish speaking countries who require Spanish language enhancement to pursue postgraduate studies in Colombia, also in accordance with the "2024-2 ACADEMIC OFFER CATALOG."

Applicants are required to present two letters of acceptance: one for the Spanish course and another for the academic program listed in the "ACADEMIC OFFER CATALOG 2024-2." Upon successful completion of the Spanish course, beneficiaries commence their postgraduate studies in 2025-1. The scholarships have varying durations based on the program's modality, with renewals required annually for programs exceeding 12 months. Renewal eligibility hinges on meeting ICETEX's stipulated requirements, including academic performance and program enrollment verification.

Benefits include full tuition coverage by Colombian higher education institutions, health insurance providing medical and hospital assistance, including repatriation if needed, courtesy visa assistance for the scholarship recipient, monthly living expenses support, adjusted annually based on the Colombian Ministry of Labor's minimum wage increments, installation expenses support for beneficiaries in Colombia, support for books and materials throughout the study period, and financial assistance for obtaining the Foreign Identification "Cedula de Extranjeria."
