IOM invites young individuals to participate in its Global Youth Ambassador Initiative, which seeks to elevate youth voices and advocate for migration-related issues. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2023, midnight CET.
The initiative aims to empower young people to become agents of change in the field of migration by amplifying their voices, advocating for inclusive policies, promoting safe and dignified migration, and fostering dialogue on migration matters. Migration Youth Ambassadors, chosen for a one-year term, will collaborate with IOM on various topics, including climate mobility, human trafficking, xenophobia, and health.
Key Objectives:
- Amplify Youth Voices: Provide a platform for young individuals to express their perspectives, share experiences, and create content related to migration issues, promoting a more inclusive approach to migration governance.
- Advocate for Youth-Inclusive Policies: Champion policies that prioritize the well-being of youth in host, transit, and destination communities, enabling their meaningful participation in migration discussions and decisions.
- Promote Safe and Dignified Migration: Engage in advocacy to enhance access to information and resources regarding migration and legal pathways.
- Empower Young People: Through capacity-building, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, empower Youth Ambassadors to be effective advocates and leaders in their communities, addressing migration issues in collaboration with various partners.

Additional Information
- Engage in discussions regarding migration issues and integrate migration and human mobility considerations into other policy dialogues. You'll have the opportunity to create content, advocate for these issues, and support fundraising endeavors.
- Propose creative and groundbreaking ideas, as well as pilot youth-led solutions, to tackle the challenges encountered by young individuals, especially young migrants.
- Connect with your local community, including youth partners and various stakeholders, to raise awareness and exchange experiences related to migration.
- Present your work at high-level meetings, providing you with the platform to share your insights and contributions on migration matters.
- Are you aged between 18 and 30 years old (inclusive) by December 30, 2023?
- Do you have a strong passion for migration issues and a track record of involvement in youth empowerment within your community?
- Are you eager to make meaningful contributions to discussions on migration at national, regional, and global levels?
