FUNDED: Apply to join the Young Ambassadors Society (YAS) Delegation to the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) in New York, USA

Applications are now open for the Young Ambassadors Society (YAS) Delegation to the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70), taking place from 9 to 20 March 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. CSW remains the leading global platform focused entirely on advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women. Every year, government representatives, civil society actors, and international stakeholders come together to evaluate progress, exchange knowledge, and shape new strategies for promoting women’s rights worldwide.

The 2026 priority theme centers on strengthening and ensuring access to justice for all women and girls by fostering fair and inclusive legal systems, eliminating discriminatory laws and practices, and tackling the structural obstacles that hinder equality. Delegates selected by YAS will have the chance to closely follow negotiations, participate in side-events, meet key actors in the gender equality space, and create meaningful content that captures the key conversations and outcomes of CSW70 for the wider YAS community.

Interested candidates should note that applications will be assessed on a rolling basis, making early submission strongly encouraged. The final deadline is 23 December 2025 at 23:59 CET.

The conference will run from 9 to 20 March 2026, and although the event pass grants access for the entire duration, delegates are not required to be present every day. All sessions will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where global leaders gather to shape the future of gender justice.

Applicants are expected to have strong English language skills and possess academic, volunteer, professional, or entrepreneurial experience connected to the year’s theme. They should be comfortable collaborating with fellow Italian and international delegates, actively participating in CSW70 activities, and contributing to detailed written reports and engaging digital content that highlight the significance of the discussions and their broader impact.

Candidates must also be able to cover their own expenses related to travel, accommodation, visas, and any other costs associated with attending the meeting. Eligibility does not depend on holding an Italian passport, but all outlined conditions must be met, including the ability to obtain entry clearance to the host country where required.
