FUNDED HYBRID PROGRAM : Apply for the Science Diplomacy, Neuroscience, Technology and Society School 2026 in Uruguay Training Program

Applications are open for the 2026 Science Diplomacy, Neuroscience, Technology and Society (SDNTS) School, an advanced international training program designed to strengthen expertise at the intersection of science, diplomacy, technology, ethics, and public policy. The program will take place in a hybrid format in Montevideo, Uruguay, from 7–18 December 2026.

The initiative seeks to empower emerging and established professionals from the Global South with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address complex societal challenges through evidence-based policymaking and international cooperation.

About the Program

The SDNTS School brings together participants from diverse disciplines to explore how scientific knowledge can contribute to diplomacy, governance, and sustainable development. Special emphasis is placed on neuroscience, mental health, neurotechnology, ethics, and public policy.

The training is structured around two complementary learning modules. Participants will gain a strong foundation in the principles and evolution of science diplomacy while also exploring emerging areas such as neurodiplomacy, technodiplomacy, neuroethics, neurorights, and the governance of new technologies.

The program combines lectures, case studies, practical workshops, policy discussions, institutional visits, and collaborative learning activities. Participants will engage with experts, policymakers, diplomats, international organizations, and researchers working on global development challenges.

By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and South–South cooperation, the school aims to support a new generation of leaders capable of advancing ethical, inclusive, and science-informed decision-making.
