FUNDED TO IRELAND: Apply for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships program 2025

The 2025 Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships (GOI-IES) Programme is now accepting applications. This initiative aims to provide financial support to outstanding international students pursuing studies at levels 9 or 10 on Ireland’s National Framework of Qualifications (master’s, postgraduate diploma, or doctorate). Sponsored by the Irish government in collaboration with higher education institutions (HEIs), the scheme is administered by the Higher Education Authority. Annually, the programme awards 60 scholarships for a year-long full-time course at eligible levels.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the GOI-IES programme, applicants must originate from outside the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and the UK. Before applying, candidates are required to secure a place on a master’s, postgraduate diploma, or PhD programme through the standard application process of an eligible Irish HEI. Applicants must possess either a provisional or confirmed admission offer from the institution at the time of their scholarship application. Individuals who have previously received a GOI-IES scholarship are not eligible to reapply.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship provides a one-time stipend of €10,000 for a full academic year of study at NFQ levels 9 or 10. Additionally, the host institution will waive all tuition and related fees for the scholarship recipients during the funded year. Successful applicants must be prepared to begin their studies in September or October 2025.
