FUNDING : Apply for the Mitigation Action Facility Projects 2025

The Mitigation Action Facility is a premier platform for offering climate money and technical assistance for large-scale mitigation initiatives aimed at decarbonising important facets of the economy and society.

The 2025 Call for Projects will provide climate finance for the execution of mitigation initiatives that align with the new, more ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0) set for 2025.

The call has a maximum funding volume of EUR 25 million per project and a total funding volume of up to EUR 100 million.

Eligibility Criteria
Project Concepts must meet specific eligibility criteria to ensure they align with the formal requirements for competitive bidding for MAF support. The following criteria apply:

- Submission must be made on time, by the deadline set for the Project Concept Phase of the 2025 Call for Projects as communicated by MAF.
- The project must focus on one of the three priority sectors—energy, industry, or transport—or be a cross-sectoral project linked to one of these sectors.
- All required information must be provided (with all mandatory fields of the concept template completed online).
- Information should be submitted in English.
- The country must be eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) according to the OECD DAC list for the entire duration of the project.
- The funding must qualify as ODA finance under MAF guidelines.
