The newly launched WALD Innovation Facility is now accepting proposals for innovative, climate-positive, and biodiversity-positive projects.

The initiative aims to support nature-based projects that restore ecosystems and enhance biodiversity, with a focus on carbon removal and leveraging the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).

Grants ranging from EUR 750,000 to EUR 1.5 million are available for projects that align with the Facility's goals.

Key Details:

• Grant Range: EUR 750,000 – EUR 1.5 million
• Eligible Activities:
  • Forest-based activities (restoration, agroforestry)
  • Inland wetland-based activities (peatland restoration)
  • Coastal wetland activities (mangroves, seagrass)
• Selection Process: The application is in two stages:
  1. Concept Note Submission (by February 13, 2025)
  2. Full Proposal Submission (for shortlisted applicants)
• Project Location: Must be implemented in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) and located near or within Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs).

• Demonstrated capacity for high-quality, scalable carbon market projects
• Commitment to advancing social inclusion, gender equality, and innovation
