Young people who would rather create than just sit in a classroom are the target audience for the Thiel Fellowship. Every year, they select between 20 and 30 participants.

The Thiel Fellowship is a two-year program that was started in 2011 by investor and software entrepreneur Peter Thiel for young people who want to build new things. Thiel Fellows forgo or abandon their undergraduate education in return for funding and support from the network of scientists, financiers, and foundation founders of the Thiel Foundation.

Those that apply successfully might be able to receive a $100,000 grant.

Eligibility Criteria

All individuals under the age of 22 are eligible to apply.Candidates may be enrolled in classes, but if selected, you must drop out of school in order to accept the Fellowship.You cannot apply if you are a bachelor's degree holder.It's not a required to have established a business or produced a finished good at this point, but you have to demonstrate that you are moving towards a certain objective at least steadily.Each candidate is assessed individually before being admitted.
