FUNDING : Submit Proposals for the E-Learning on Climate Finance Transparency Program

The Development and Delivery of e-learning Trainings on Climate Finance Transparency Program has been initiated by the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM).

Objectives
Transparency in climate finance is essential for countries to accurately assess and effectively manage the financial resources allocated to their climate goals. It is crucial in monitoring global progress toward the Paris Agreement's objectives, fostering trust among stakeholders, and demonstrating each country’s commitment to climate action.
Reliable data and accessible reports support evidence-based decision-making at the local, national, and international levels, encouraging collective efforts to combat climate change.

For developing nations, climate finance transparency is vital for planning and managing climate initiatives. It helps in formulating a financing strategy that integrates both public and private funding flows necessary to implement Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and long-term plans, identifying financing gaps, and mobilizing additional resources for mitigation and adaptation.

Phases

  • Scoping, planning, and establishing institutional frameworks
  • Defining and categorizing climate finance
  • Ex-ante assessment of climate finance needs
  • Tracking climate finance
  • Evaluation, progressing from transparency to enhanced climate action

Targeted Impact In order to help developing nations improve the execution of their climate policies and actions—particularly their role in implementing the Paris Agreement—it is necessary to enhance their competence on climate financing transparency.

Don't miss out on the application deadline which is  23-Dec-2024.
