Only applications from civil society organizations and other assistance channels will be considered. Applications from government agencies, parliamentary bodies, political parties, or national liberation movements will not be accepted.
Organizations applying to the Fund must have been registered and actively involved in projects related to modern slavery for at least two years before the project starts. Proposals for creating new organizations will not be accepted.
Applications for projects focused on investigations, research, studies, or publishing newsletters or similar activities are not eligible.
Projects should aim to support the reparation, empowerment, and integration of slavery survivors through direct assistance. This assistance may include medical, psychological, social, legal, humanitarian, educational support, vocational training, or help with self-sufficiency. If an organization cannot provide all forms of assistance, it may refer victims to other organizations offering the necessary support.
To tackle the underlying causes of exploitation and decrease vulnerability, organizations should, where possible, promote the economic independence of slavery survivors, including through referrals to specialized services. Proposals involving income-generating activities must ensure that participants are fairly compensated and include safeguards to prevent reexploitation.
Projects should address the victims' needs for social inclusion and uphold their rights to dignity, safety, and education.
Project grants are not intended for direct financial compensation to victims.
