The African Foundation for Young Media Professionals invites early career journalists and broadcasters from across Africa to apply for the African Change Narrative Storytellers’ Fellowship. This initiative aims to equip aspiring storytellers and content creators with the tools to counteract negative media portrayals of Africa as a continent marred by corruption, conflict, and despair perpetuated by Western media. By highlighting positive and impactful stories, this fellowship, supported by Africa No Filter, seeks to empower young journalists to authentically showcase Africa's diverse narratives. To apply, candidates must be based in Africa, complete a 3-hour+ course on telling African stories, participate in virtual training sessions, commit to writing two positive change narrative stories about Africans effecting change, and secure a letter of commitment from their editor/producer permitting participation and use of the produced stories.
