Applications are now open for the 2025 Anzisha Prize Fellowship Program. The Anzisha Prize is recognized as Africa’s largest award for the continent's youngest entrepreneurs, specifically targeting individuals between the ages of 15 and 22. Each year, the program provides over USD $140,000 in support and prize money to outstanding young entrepreneurs from across Africa.
The Anzisha Prize is a venture-building fellowship program that has successfully supported and nurtured young entrepreneurs for over a decade. It is a multi-year program designed to reward and promote the growth of businesses led by very young entrepreneurs. Throughout the fellowship, the performance of both the entrepreneur and their business will be closely monitored. Businesses that demonstrate significant growth and innovation will have access to a variety of benefits, including cash stipends, cloud services, and specialized short courses. At the end of the second year, participants will have the opportunity to pitch their business achievements, competing for prizes totaling $50,000. The awards are divided into four main categories: Job Creation, Revenue Growth, Storytelling, and Integrating Systems and Processes.
To be eligible for the Anzisha Prize, applicants must be between 15 and 22 years old and be able to present either an ID document or passport for verification. The applicant must be a citizen of an African country, and their business must operate within Africa, serving African customers or beneficiaries. The program welcomes ventures from all fields, including science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, and sports. Applicants must be one of the founding members of the business, whether they started it alone or with co-founders.
The fellowship offers several benefits to its participants. Fellows receive cash stipends at various stages throughout the program, with continued funding contingent on meeting specific milestones. Entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to participate in the Entrepreneur Shadow Program, where they can observe and learn from a business in their region that they admire and wish to emulate. In addition, fellows can apply for the Service Provider Program, which connects them with professionals who possess specialized technical skills needed to address specific business challenges.
