GRANTS: Apply for the Funding Fairer Futures grant initiative for both informal and formal youth climate movements across Europe
The Funding Fairer Futures initiative is now inviting proposals for innovative climate justice projects. This fresh program is focused on reshaping the environmental movement into a more inclusive and representative space—where everyone, particularly individuals and groups from historically underrepresented backgrounds, has the opportunity to lead and influence climate solutions. In collaboration with key partners including Climate Action Network, Women Engage for a Common Future (WECF), Christian Blind Mission Ireland, and ECOLISE, this collective effort is committed to empowering communities and holding decision-makers accountable for equitable climate action.
The Youth Climate Changemakers Fund, recognized as the largest climate funding pool for youth-led organizations and informal collectives across Europe, is now open to applications. Financial assistance ranging from €1,000 to €100,000 is available to support groundbreaking projects that aim to build an inclusive and resilient climate movement. Even small, informal youth groups are encouraged to apply for micro-grants to bring their vision to life, with the minimum funding starting at €1,000.
This funding opportunity is specifically targeted at young changemakers based in the 27 European Union member states, including both established nonprofits and grassroots movements. The program is designed to fuel the transformation of the youth climate movement through direct funding, capacity-building training, and the creation of strong peer networks. It places a strong emphasis on involving voices that have traditionally been excluded from environmental discussions—encouraging applications from organizations not typically associated with climate activism but passionate about creating systemic change.
Applicants are encouraged to showcase how their initiatives will lead to long-lasting impact and growth beyond the funding period. This fund isn’t just about temporary support—it’s about cultivating long-term leadership, influence, and collaboration within climate justice spaces. In addition to funding, selected participants will become part of a vibrant, values-driven network of youth changemakers and partner organizations working in unison for a just and fair ecological transition.
Projects that help amplify the goals of the Funding Fairer Futures campaign will be especially valued. The coalition is eager to support bold, youth-driven projects that connect the dots between climate action and broader social justice priorities, ultimately laying the groundwork for a sustainable and equitable future for all. Those with ideas that bridge climate justice with youth empowerment, community engagement, and inclusive policymaking are especially encouraged to submit proposals.
