Applications are open for the Youth Climate Justice Fund, which provides core and flexible funding to emerging youth-led groups working to advance climate justice. For the 2026 open call, eligible local and national groups are invited to apply for grants of up to USD 20,000 for local initiatives and up to USD 40,000 for national-level work. Applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility requirements and grantmaking process in full before applying. The complete application package, including Frequently Asked Questions and all application questions, is available in Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili.
The application portal will remain open until March 1, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. Submissions are accepted in Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili through the online application platform.
Groups are encouraged to apply if they meet the following criteria. The group, network, or collective must be led by young people aged 35 and below, with decision-making power primarily held by individuals within this age range.
Eligible applicants must be based in East Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, Europe and Central Asia, or North America. Groups operating in high-income countries must be led by young people from underrepresented or marginalized communities. Groups focused solely on international advocacy without direct community-level work are not eligible.
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to inclusive organizing, collective leadership, and intersectional movement building. Groups based in North America or Western Europe must be led by young people who face discrimination or marginalization related to class, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or social background.
Supported movements must be non-partisan, non-violent, and operate within legal boundaries.
